Wednesdays in Washington, DC

These are some shots I took at night (obviously) at the National World War II Memorial.  This is one of the more recently constructed memorials in Washington; it opened to the public on April 29, 2004.

Tuesday's Time Lapse - Music Video/ Movie within a Movie

This is one of the most unusual and original time lapses I've ever seen.  For some background information on this film, see this post on the PetaPixel website.  FYI - the time lapse doesn't really get started until about 55 seconds into the film.

Butler Baseball

I shot a Butler baseball earlier this week.  Here are a few images from that game:

You can see some additional photos of mine from this game on the Butler website.

Wednesdays in Washington, DC

Since I've gone with themed-posts on Mondays and Tuesdays, I thought I might as well extend them to Wednesdays too.

As I indicated in my 04-22-12 post, I was in Washington DC recently.  While I was there, I had the opportunity to get out and do some shooting.

These are a couple of photos of the White House from the Hay-Adams Hotel (whose slogan is "Where nothing is overlooked except the White House").  The first photo was shot near dusk and the second was shot after the sun had set.

Tuesday's Time Lapse - Hot & Cold

Here's a time lapse of Sunday's (May 20, 2012) solar eclipse.

Here's something a little "cooler" (pun intended), a time lapse of a blizzard in December of 2010.

Mondays at The Masters

As of today(May 21, 2012), Rory McIloroy is the #1 ranked golfer in the world.  This is a photo of Rory at The Masters being interviewed in the press area.

Tuesday's Time Lapse - ArcelorMittal Orbit Sculpture

Okay, this isn't the normal time lapse composed of multiple individual photos I usually post, but since it's Olympic-related, I decided to make an exception.

The time lapse shows the construction of the ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture in London.  The sculpture stands next to the Olympic Stadium and is the tallest sculpture in the UK.  Given the sculpture's unusual design, it isn't without some controversy.

Mondays at The Masters

For the last couple of years, I've had the opportunity to attend The Masters golf tournament.  Last year I was there during actual tournament play.  During the actual tournament, no cameras are allowed.  This year I had the opportunity to be there during a practice round; that means I got to take pictures.  For the next few Mondays, I'll be sharing some of my photos from The Masters.

Here are couple shots of Arnold Palmer.

Still Catching Up (with Butler)

Butler University announced today that it would be moving from the Horizon League to the Atlantic 10 Conference starting the 2013-14 school year.  I've really enjoyed having Butler in the Horizon League; all but two of the schools are within a three drive for me.  It will be interesting to see how the new conference works out.

Here are some photos from Butler's last basketball game of the year again the University of Pittsburgh in the College Basketball Invitational tournament.  Even though the game was on March 21, 2012, the weather was still warm enough for the fans to tailgate before the game.

A few action shots from the game:

Always have to have a dunk with the player facing away from the camera.
